Anna Jacobapolder

Anna Jacobapolder is a small village in the municipality of Tholen of the Dutch province of Zeeland. The place is located on the St. Philips Country Peninsula and has about 430 inhabitants ( 2008).

History

In 1847, a 869 -acre polder the island of St Philips country was fed gained on the initiative of Willem Frederik del Campo. Del Campo named the new polder after his wife Anna Jacoba van Sonsbeek, Anna Jacobapolder. Initially, the resulting at one of the new ways village was simply called Aan de Noordweg and belonged to the municipality Bruinisse until it was then in 1858 to the municipality of Sint umgemeindet Philips country.
