Annabelle Boettcher

Life

She studied political science, Islamic studies and law in Toulouse ( France), Munich, Freiburg and Damascus ( Syria). From 1993, she lived for four years in Syria where he worked as " chercheur associé " ( 1993-95 ) and as " allocataire de recherche " (1995-97 ) at the Institut Français d' Études Arabes in Damascus. For this research visit a doctoral thesis was about Syrian policy on religion in political science at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau forth. In the years 1997 and 1999, she worked for one year at a "fellow " at Harvard University in Cambridge, and then a year as a " research associate " at the Universite Saint Joseph in Beirut ( Lebanon). From 2001 to 2005 she taught at the Free University of Berlin and his habilitation on Islamic networks, where they again went to Cambridge as a fellow in the summer of 2002. In addition, she taught at the Université Saint -Joseph in Beirut ( Lebanon), École Pratique des Hautes Études Religieuse ( EPHE ) in Paris and at the University of Vienna. In 2003, she participated as a lecturer at the 10th Congress DAVO part ( German Association of the Middle East) and conducted some events.

From 2001, she worked internationally as a consultant in science management and policy consulting and has worked since the beginning of 2005 for an international humanitarian organization in the Islamic world.

In 2006 she qualified as a professor at the Free University Berlin.
