Annals of Loch Cé

The Annals of Loch Cézanne ( Irish: Annala Locha Cézanne, English: Annals of Loch Cézanne ) are among the most important chronicles of the medieval history of Ireland with a special emphasis on Connacht. They are largely written in the Irish language with very few Latin entries. They cover the period from 1014 to 1590 and were under the direction of Brian Mac Diarmata ( 1592 died ) at Loch Cézanne gathered in Boyle, County Roscommon.

Manuscripts received

There are two surviving manuscripts:

  • The manuscript from the library of Trinity College, Dublin, contains entries for the 1014 bis 1571st entries for 1138-1170 and 1316-1384 are missing.
