Anseba River

The Anseba ( Tigrinya: ኣንሰባኣንሰባ ) is a seasonal river in Eritrea.

Geography

The Anseba rises to the north-west slopes of the central highlands of Eritrea, in the Maekel region near the capital Asmara. It flows north and joins just before the border with Sudan to the Barka.

Hydrology

The river flows only a few months a year. Only during the rainy season in the summer months it ever reaches the estuary.
