Antal Csengery

Antal Csengery ( born June 2, 1822 in Oradea, † July 13, 1880 in Budapest) was a Hungarian journalist and politician.

Csengery was editor of the newspaper Pesti Hírlap. In 1848 he was Ministerial Counsellor of the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior. In 1849 he became Secretary General of the new Hungarian Bodenkreditanstalt. He was instrumental in the preparation of the Austro-Hungarian compensation. 1861, and from 1868 to 1878 he was a member of the party Deak.
