Antarctic Sound

Geographical location

The Antarctic Sound (English Antarctic Sound ) is a body of water that is about 48 kilometers long and 11-19 kilometers wide. It separates the group of Joinville Islands from the north-western end of the Antarctic Peninsula.

The Sound was named by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition under Otto Nordenskiöld after the expedition ship, the Antarctic, the first ship that went through him.
