Anterior humeral circumflex artery

The artery circumflex humeral artery ( " front, encompassing the humeral artery", in animals as circumflex humeral artery cranial ) to extend, as the larger artery posterior circumflex humeral, a branch of the axillary artery ( axillary artery ).

It rises on the opposite lateral side of the axillary artery and runs horizontally under the musculus coracobrachialis and the short head of the biceps muscle ( biceps brachii ) to the frontal side of the anatomical neck of the humerus (humerus ).

They finally reached the area of the bicipital groove of the humerus and is there a branch from which ascends cranially into the sulcus and supplies the humeral head and the shoulder joint with arterial blood. The main trunk of the vessel moves under the long head of the biceps and the deltoid muscle a little further armabwärts and eventually connects with the posterior circumflex humeral artery.
