Posterior humeral circumflex artery

The posterior circumflex humeral artery ( " the humerus back umwindende artery" ) - referred to in the animal anatomy as circumflex humeral artery caudalis - is an artery in the shoulder and upper arm. It originates at the lower margin of the deltoid from the axillary artery ( axillary artery ) and shrinks with the axillary nerve through the quadrangular space to the outside of the shoulder, where it winds around the neck of the humerus.

The posterior humeral circumflex artery supplies the shoulder joint and the deltoid muscle. It anastomoses brachii ( circumflex humeral artery anterior) and the arteria profunda with the same anterior artery.
