Antero Manninen

Antero "Mr. Cool " Manninen ( born January 19, 1973 in Tampere ) is a Finnish studio cellist and founding member of the Cello metal quartet Apocalyptica.

Biography

Manninen was a student of cellist Raimo Sariola. He was official, but not as composers member of Apocalyptica and left the band in 1999 due to prior commitments. After the departure of Max Lilja in 2002, he was for several years in live performance back again, but officially he was not a member. His calm style of play is a stark contrast to the head-banging painting the rest of the band at live performances. Besides his work with Apocalyptica he worked for the Tapiola Sinfonietta Avanti! , The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Finnish National Opera. He is co-founder of the Sibelius Academy 's Cellosextets (SSS ). Antero is also available for funerals. He is currently a member of the Sinfonia Lahti.
