Anthony Browne (author)
Anthony Browne ( born September 11, 1946 in Sheffield ) is a British illustrator and picture book author. He was appointed Children's Laureate 2009-2011.
Life
Browne attended art school in Leeds and then worked as an anatomical artist. In 1976 he published his first book. In 2000, Browne won the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the highest and most prestigious international award for children's book authors and illustrators.
Today he lives with his wife and children in Kent.
