Anthony G. Brown

Anthony Gregory Brown ( born November 21, 1961 in Huntington, New York) is an American politician. Since 2007 he has been Vice- Governor of the State of Maryland.

Career

Anthony Brown attended the public schools of his home. In 1979 he graduated from Huntington High School. After that, he was for a short time at the United States Military Academy at West Point, but then moved to Harvard University, where he remained until 1982. In another study program he studied there, already as an officer until 1992 Jura. Since 1984, he served in the U.S. Army. He enrolled in the Reserve Officer Training Corps and was trained as an officer. To date, he is a member of the Army's reserve, where he held the rank of colonel. During his active years (until 1994) he was promoted to captain. At first he was a helicopter pilot and later military prosecutor. In 2004, he was reactivated and used for a few months in Iraq. For his various military achievements, he was awarded several medals, including the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal. His main job practiced between 1994 and 2007 as a lawyer. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. From 1999 to 2006 he sat in the House of Representatives from Maryland.

2006 Brown was elected to the side of Martin O'Malley for Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. He held this position for a re-election today. He is assistant to the governor. He is a member of numerous organizations and associations. One of his powers delegated by the Governor tasks was to supervise the closure of military bases in Maryland, taking into account the economic consequences for his state. He also strove to improve the education system. In 2014 he is running for the office of Governor of Maryland; Martin O'Malley must not run again due to a constitutional term limit.
