ANTIC

ANTIC ( AlphaNumeric Television Interface Controller ) is a graphics component in computers, the Atari company with 6502 processor. The peculiarity of the graphic block is that it processes the so-called display list that contains information for each line of the screen. These include: Graphics Resolution ( video mode ), address of the Grafik-/Textspeichers for this line, jumps, generating an interrupt. Thus, this module can be seen as a simple graphics coprocessor. The ANTIC only works with the GTIA, which ultimately builds the image and also to manage the player / missile graphics ( like sprites ) is responsible.
