Antisect

Antisect is a punk band founded in 1982 in Daventry, which is attributed to the genres anarcho, hardcore and crust punk. The group focuses on issues such as animal rights and social justice.

History

Were Antisect 1982 by Pete Boyce (vocals), Pete Lyons (guitar, vocals), Renusze Rokicki (bass) and Pete Paluskiewicz ( drums). The band lived partly as squatters or on the road. Soon, the band founded by the anarcho- punk band Flux of Pink Indians Spiderleg Label Records was signed. Antisect released their first album, In Darkness There is No Choice, 1983., It could reach the 20th place in the British indie charts and is today counted as a punk classic.

The 1985 released EP Out from the Void reached the second place in the charts and is next to Arise! seen by Amebix as the starting point of the crust punks. Although the band had already started recording for their second album, Welcome to the New Dark Ages, it was never completed. Some of the songs, however, were included in the albums Live Peace is Better Than a Place in History and Leeds 02/04/86. In 1987 the group split after five years of existence.

2011, the reunification Antisects (guitar, vocals), Laurence Windle (bass) and Joe Burwood (drums) was announced on the band's website, and the new lineup, consisting of Tim Andrews ( vocals), Pete Lyons presented. The band toured among other things, the UK, the U.S. and Europe. In addition, a new single, Minutes Past Midnight / Out From The Void (Part 2) was published in 2011. In the same year the debut album In Darkness There is No Choice was re-released on Anti Society Records.
