Antoine Laurent Bayle

Antoine Laurent Bayle Jessé (* January 13, 1799, † March 29, 1858 ) was a French physician and brain pathologist.

He studied medicine in Paris and worked at the psychiatric hospital in Charenton- le -Pont, near Paris. 1822 described Bayle was the first to histological changes in the brains of deceased patients to neurosyphilis.

In 1824 he founded the journal Revue médicale. Bayle was thérapeutique 1828-1837 editor of the multivolume Bibliothèque de.
