Anton Johanson

Anton Johanson (* January 28, 1877, † December 24, 1952 ) was a Swedish football player and functionary.

Life

Johanson played for IFK Köpings and IFK Stockholm. In 1904 he was one of the founding members of the Swedish Football Association. For this he worked until 1937. Until 1922 he was Secretary General of the Sports Federation, then its chairman. After the end of his career, he was in 1937 appointed honorary member of the Football Association. 1932-1938 belonged Johanson also the board of FIFA, and was from 1924 to 1925 a member of the International Football Association Board.

1916 was one of the initiators of Johanson Svenska Fighter. 1917 to 1920 he was also Chairman of the Uttagningskommittén, the selection committee of the national team. He was also responsible for the selection of the squad at the 1920 Summer Olympics.
