Antoni Wojciechowski

Antoni Wojciechowski (* June 6, 1905; † January 19, 1938 in Warsaw) was a Polish chess master.

Wojciechowski, a professional tax officer, took the first time in 1926 at the championship of Poznań in part, in which he shared 2nd and 3rd place. 1927 and 1928 he won the championship in 1929 and 1932 he was runner-up. He represented poses at the two pre-war tournaments around the Polish team championship in 1929 and 1934. In the second tournament he scored on the first board, the best score of the championship. After he had moved to Inowrocław, he won the championship of Pomerania and qualified for the Polish singles championships in 1935 ( in Warsaw) and 1937 ( in Jurata ). He represented Poland at the unofficial Chess Olympiad 1936 in Munich on 8 board and achieved a good result. He spent his last years in Warsaw, where he took a keen interest in local chess life. He was from 1935 until his untimely death as one of the leading masters players in Poland.
