Antonio Álvarez Giráldez

Antonio Álvarez Giráldez ( born April 10, 1955 in Marchena ) is a former Spanish footballer and current coach. Since September 2010 he has been without a club.

Career

Antonio Álvarez had played in his active career as a player from 1974 to 1988 as a player at FC Sevilla, then also for FC Malaga and Granada FC. On 25 March 2010 Álvarez took over as coach at FC Sevilla after Manolo Jiménez was previously dismissed. Alvarez led the club to fourth place in the table, which is tantamount to participating in the play offs for the UEFA Champions League wa. The Andalusian club, he won the Copa del Rey. In the play offs for the UEFA Champions League Álvarez failed the Sevilla to SC Braga. After the Sevilla FC lost against UD Almeria, Álvarez was released on 26 September 2010.
