2009–10 Copa del Rey

The Copa del Rey 2009/10 was the 106th edition of the Spanish Football Cup Copa del Rey.

The competition was launched 22 August 2009 and ended with the final on 19 May 2010 at Camp Nou (Barcelona). Winner of the cup competition was the Sevilla FC. The cup winner would have been qualified for the UEFA Europa League 2010/ 11, but the Sevilla FC qualified for the play- offs for the UEFA Champions League 2010/11. The losing finalist Atlético Madrid qualified for its part, already as the defending champion for the group stage of the Europa League, so the place fell into disrepair. Mode

Qualification for Europa League 2010/11

The winner of the Spanish Cup competition qualified for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2010/11. Since the Sevilla FC Primera División as a table fourth in the 2009/10 for the playoff round of the UEFA Champions League 2010/11 qualified, the qualification place, as usual, went to the runners-up.
