Tiago [ tiaɣu ] (born 2 May 1981 in Viana do Castelo, Tiago Cardoso Mendes actually ) is a Portuguese football player.

Since January 2010, he plays for Spanish club Atlético Madrid.

Career

His first season played Tiago 1999 at Sporting Braga. In December 2001, he moved to Benfica eleven months later he made ​​his debut in the Portuguese national team. At Benfica he scored 13 goals in 31 games. In the 2003 /04 season he won the Portuguese Cup with the capital club.
