Roberto Soldado Rillo (born 27 May 1985 in Valencia ) is a Spanish football player.

Career

Clubs

The center forward came in 2000 to Real Madrid, where he played successfully in various junior categories. In the 2005/06 season he played for the second team of the people of Madrid, Real Madrid Castilla in the Spanish second division and played parallel to his first games for the first team. His scoring prowess he demonstrated both in the second division, in which he fought until the last match to the top scorer, as well as in his plays for the first team for which he both in La Liga, as well as in the Champions League met.

In the 2006/07 season he was loaned to Spanish side CA Osasuna. After the season, however, he returned back to Real Madrid. After a season in which he was rarely used, Soldado joined in the summer of 2008 to FC Getafe. The transfer fee was four million euros. For the 2010/11 season Soldado was transferred for a transfer fee of around ten million euros to FC Valencia. On April 2, 2011 Soldado came back for the first time after his move to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez Getafe and scored in the 4-2 victory of FC Valencia in the second half, all four goals of his team. His jubilation was out of respect for his former club from behavior. In the season 2010/11 he was with 18 league goals the best shot of his team. This was the case, in which he scored 17 goals and the Trofeo Zarra also won in the season 2011/12. End of June 2012, he extended his contract at Valencia until 2017. For the 2013/14 season Soldado changed hands for around 30 million euros for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

National

Roberto Soldado Spain won with the U-19 European Championship in 2004. On 2 June 2007 he gave his debut against Latvia in Spain's national team. After almost five years for the first time recalled to the national team, Soldado scored on 29 February 2012 in a friendly match against Venezuela his first three international goals. In spite of the injury-related loss of David Villa but he was surprisingly not called in the Spanish squad for the 2012 European Championship. Instead, Álvaro Negredo was nominated.
