1903 Copa del Rey

The Copa del Rey in 1903 was the first officially recognized edition of the Spanish Football Cup competition.

At participated in this tournament three teams Athletic Bilbao, Club Español and Madrid FC. All three games were held in the Hipódromo de Madrid. The tournament took place from 6 to 8 April and ended with the last group match between FC Madrid and Athletic Bilbao. Bilbao won 3-2 and thus secured for the first time the Spanish Cup. Although already a selection team had won in 1902 consisting of players from Athletic Bilbao and Bilbao FC the first Spanish Cup, but this victory is not officially recognized by the Spanish Football Federation.

The three games were played in Group mode, since the Madrid FC and Athletic Bilbao their first game against Club Español each won, it came in the final group game almost to the final of the cup.
