Antonio Maria Mazzoni

Antonio Maria Mazzoni ( born January 4, 1717 Bologna, † December 8, 1785 ) was an Italian composer and singer.

Life

Mazzoni came from a humble background. He studied in his native city of music and trained as a singer. He made himself a name as an opera composer and was a member of the Accademia Filarmonica. He lived in the episode as a conductor in Bologna, but also undertook repeatedly traveling abroad, where his operas were performed with success. So he worked at the court of Lisbon, where at the Teatro do Tejo were two of his stage works successfully. As a refugee from the effects of the earthquake of November 1, 1755 he came to Madrid, where he composed for the Spanish court. The Court Opera Carlo Broschi commissioned the setting of the libretto Il re pastore by Pietro Metastasio, the 1756 listed as '' Aminta '' successful. Following his stay in Madrid, he went for a commitment to Saint Petersburg, but remained Bologna center of his life. He was in his native city of the recognized musicians.

Apart from his operas have been handed down to him numerous operas and oratorios of Solfeggien, sketches. He wrote in a catchy, easy- barrel union style.
