Antonio Maria Pucci

Antonio Maria Pucci ( née: Eustachio Pucci, born April 16, 1819 in Poggiole, a district of Vernio in Florence, Italy, † January 12, 1892 in Viareggio, Italy ) was an Italian Servite monk and priest. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church.

Eustachio Pucci entered the age of 18 at the Servite Order and accepted as a religious name Antonio Maria. In 1843 he was ordained priest. From 1847 he served as pastor of Viareggio, 45 years, active until his death. In particular, he devoted himself to the elderly, the sick and needy. For the Christian education of girls, he founded a community of Servitinnen in his action, for which he himself presided. To implement the Church's life erected Antonio Maria as a pioneer children 's and youth groups, men 's and women's laps. He is also the founder of the first Italian home for sick and disadvantaged children. Meanwhile, Antonio Maria worked another 24 years as Prior and 7 years as Provincial of the Tuscan Servitenprovinz.

It was established in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. beatified and in 1962 by Pope John XXIII. canonized.
