Antonio Molinari

Antonio Molinari ( born January 21, 1655 in Venice, † February 3, 1704 ) was an Italian painter and graphic artist. He learned his craft from his father, the Italian painter Giovanni Battista Molinari ( 163x - 168x ).

A student Antonio Molinari was Giovanni Battista Piazzetta.

Work

Antonio Molinari mainly focused on paintings with biblical motifs and scenes from ancient times for Venetian patrician houses, fraternities and church building on.

Important collections (especially Baroque drawings) of Molinari's works are in the Museum Kunst Palast in Düsseldorf and at the Louvre in Paris.
