Antonio Montagnana

Antonio Montagnana (* unknown in Venice and Veneto, † unknown ) was an Italian opera singer ( bass).

He is primarily known for his collaboration with George Frideric Handel, for which he sang in London 1731-1733 at King 's Theatre in the operas. In 1730 he sang in Rome and 1731 in Turin in operas of Nicola Porpora, who was his teacher. After two seasons with Handel opera in 1733, he moved to rival Opera of the Nobility, but returned back in 1737 for one season on Handel. In the 1740s it is detectable as a royal court musician in Madrid.
