Antony Fisher

Antony Fisher ( * June 28, 1915; † July 8, 1988 ) was dedicated to the promotion of liberal politics. He founded in 1955 the Institute of Economic Affairs, and 1981, the Atlas Economic Research Foundation. Fisher was a member of the Mont Pelerin Society since 1947. With the help of Atlas, he helped more than 150 think tanks around the world to establish, among the best known:

Fisher attended Eton College and served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He died in 1988, four weeks after he was beaten by Queen Elizabeth II knighted.

He is the namesake of the 1990 awarded by the Atlas Economic Research Foundation, Fisher Awards.
