Apala

Apala is a style of music that originated from the Yoruba of Nigeria. The percussion -based music style was developed in the late 1930s to wake up the Ramadan practicing believers. Under the influence of Cuban music, the rhythm became increasingly complex and became popular throughout Nigeria.

The game is played with a Sekere Apala, a Agidigbo, a Agogô and two or three Gangans.
