Apigenin is a bright yellow plant pigment from the group of flavones. It is for example found in celery, chamomile, in dahlias and henna. Against malignant tumors, it shows cytostatic activity by stopping the cell cycle proliferation in the G2/M-phase ( cell division, mitotic phase). Furthermore, it is an inhibitor of estrogen synthetase humans.
