Apinae is a subfamily of Apidae, which belong to several thousand species from 18 tribes. These include, among others, the tribe Apini, which includes the honeybees and the Tribus Bombini to which include the bumblebees.

The subfamily is characterized in that all species have pollen baskets on the tibiae of the hind legs. With these collective legs, the animals can transport pollen and propolis.
