Apold

Apold also Apoldu din Sighisoara ( Apold German, Hungarian Apold ) is a municipality in Mureş county in Transylvania, Romania.

The place should not be with west Apoldu de Sus or Apoldu de Jos confused by Sibiu.

Geographical location

Apold is a village 15 km south-east of Sighisoara ( Sighisoara ) and municipal seat of the municipality of the same name with the villages Daia ( For village), SAEs ( Schaas ) and Vulcan ( Cloud Village ).

In the center of the village Apold there is an impressive fortified church. Apold had 1898-1965 its own railway station on the narrow gauge railway from Sighişoara after Agnita, the so-called Whoosh.
