Apollo is a borough in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, northeast of Pittsburgh. The colonization by white settlers took place in 1790. In the census of 2000, there were 1765 inhabitants.
Industry
At the site there was the treatment plant of the company Nuclear Materials and Equipment Corporation ( Numec ). The site is currently being redeveloped.
Rail transport
The leading through the village now set railroad of the Pennsylvania Railroad was last operated by McLaughlin Line Railroad. To the north was from 1906 to 1936 by the West Penn Railways Interurban a compound of Leechburg. Their track bed between Apollo and North Apollo was later used by the PRR and its successor Penn Central.
