Apollo Theatre

The Apollo Theatre in London opened in February 1901 in the vicinity of Piccadilly Circus in the West End theater district in the City of Westminster. It offers 775 spectators at four levels place. Known actors such as Peter O'Toole and Vanessa Redgrave performed here already. The theater is listed as a Grade II building.

Architectural History

The building was designed by architect Lewin Sharp, built for the first owner, Henry Lowenfeld.

Accident in December 2013

On December 19, 2013 crashed during a busy with more than 700 visitors production of the play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night - Time by Simon Stephens on the novel by Mark Haddon part of a stucco ceiling and injured about 80 people, including 7 heavy.
