Apostolic Vicariate of Savannakhet

The Apostolic Vicariate of Savannakhet (Latin: apostolicus Vicariatus Savannakhetensis ) is located in Laos Apostolic Vicariate of the Roman Catholic Church.

It comprises the two provinces Khammuan and Savannakhet. Seat is the St. Louis Cathedral in Thakhek, next to the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa exists in Savannakhet.

History

The Apostolic Vicariate of Savannakhet was posted on December 21, 1950 by Pope Pius XII. established as Apostolic Prefecture of Thakhek. The Prefecture Apostolic was raised on February 24, 1958 the Vicariate Apostolic and renamed on November 26, 1963 in Apostolic Vicariate of Savannakhet. On 12 June 1967, the Vicariate of Savannakhet was the southern parts of his territory from establishing the Apostolic Vicariate Paksé.
