Appenzell District
Appenzell is a municipality ( officially referred to as district) and the capital of the poorest inhabitants Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden.
Local structure
The district comprises the villages Rinkenbach, chewing and Meistersrüte with the hamlet of Brenden and a part of the village of Appenzell.

The core of the village belongs to the district of Appenzell Appenzell.
Brenden
The approximately 1,000 m above sea level. M. hamlet of Brenden is located between Appenzell and Gais and belongs to Meistersrüte. You can reach this settlement which is around 2.5 km long corridor road from the rendezvous.
History
The district was created in 1872 from the Appenzell Rhode Lehn and parts of Rhode Rinkenbach.
