Appleby-in-Westmorland

Appleby-in -Westmorland is a town and civil parish in the Eden District in the county of Cumbria, England. In 2001 it had a population of 2862nd until 1972 belonged to the County of Westmorland Appleby, whose administrative center was the place.

On the edge of the town is Appleby Castle, which is privately owned.

The train station of Appleby (formerly Appleby West), on the railway line Settle - Carlisle, the Appleby East railway station on the Eden Valley railway line was closed in 1962.
