APT-RPM

APT- RPM is a port of the Advanced Packaging Tool (APT ), which was modified so that it uses the RPM Package Manager (RPM). Originally, it was ported to RPM by Alfredo Kojima, but later improved and further developed by Gustavo Niemeyer. Both worked at the same time in Conectiva Linux.

In March 2005, Gustavo Niemeyer announced that he will no longer co-develop the program, and instead more on the planned successor of APT- RPM, the focus is Smart Package Manager.

A year later, the development of Panu Matilainen was taken, will bring the multilib functionality and support for the standard repository metadata.

Will use APT- RPM, for example, in the Linux distribution PCLinuxOS.
