Golden Eagle ( Aquila chrysaetos )

The Real Eagle ( Aquila) is a genus of birds of prey belonging to the Accipitridae family ( Accipitridae ). To this genus comprises 11 species that are common in all climates. Only the Holarctic spread eagle also occurs in America.

System

According to recent molecular genetic studies, the genus is not monophyletic. It is therefore usually combined in the recent literature with the genus Hieraaetus, where this does not yet fully the results of molecular genetic studies equivalent ( cf. Aquilinae ).
