Araken Patusca

Abraham Patusca da Silveira ( born July 17, 1905 in Santos, † January 24, 1990 ibid ), better known as Araken Patusca or short Araken, was a Brazilian football player.

Life

The striker Araken was active as a football player in the years 1923-1929. He began his career in 1923 when Santos FC where his father was president Sizino Patusca. With Santos, he was three times runner-up in the Campeonato Paulista and São Paulo FC with the one -time champion. He was also top scorer in the 1927 state championship with 31 hits. On his return to Santos in 1935 he was in the same year, finally, with this club champion. This was also the first title of the association of less than three decades later, should dominate the world. He remained until 1937, this time at Santos.

Between 1937 and 1938 he played in São Paulo during the short-lived CA Estudantes Paulista. He finished his career in 1939 at Santos. In all, he scored 177 goals for the club in 193 games.

In January 1929 Araken played with the Brazilian national team in Rio de Janeiro against the Argentine team Club Sportivo Barracas from Buenos Aires. At the World Cup 1930, he played his only international match, Brazil lost it in his World Cup debut against Yugoslavia with 1:2, which contributed to the elimination in the first round. He died in 1990 at the age of 84 years.
