Arau

Arau is a city in the state of Perlis in Malaysia. It lies on the Malay Peninsula, about 14 kilometers southeast of Kangar, the official capital of the state. In the city there is a partially erected in colonial palace ( Istana ), in which the Raja resides. Near the palace is the grand mosque, which offers more than 1,000 worshipers.

In Arau the rail link for passengers from Kuala Lumpur that go from here by taxi to Kuala Perlis and translate from there by boat to Langkawi ends.
