Arca-Net

Arca -Net is a pan- European network of facilities that hold traditional livestock and crops and make available to the public. Arca -Net is a European network Ark in form of a virtual guide - available at any time via the Internet - designed for a wide audience. Notes around the facility, access road and offers, but also information on the various breeds of farm animals, their distribution, risk and history is available on the Arca -Net.

Background

Rare, endangered domestic animal breeds and old crops are indeed disappeared from the agricultural production units, but they live on in numerous Ark farms, variety gardens, pet parks, with open-air museums and other institutions. Arca -Net makes these devices known to a wide audience and encourages a visit to. In addition, Arca -Net provides background information and aware of the issue of the conservation of agro-biodiversity.

In the context of surveys of rescue and maintenance stations for rare and endangered livestock breeds in Europe, the SAVE Foundation established the Information Portal Arca -Net. Over 570 institutions in 46 European countries ( end of 2010) are listed in the Arca -Net. All these institutions provide visitors with access to their livestock, but also crops such as fruit and vegetables.

Construction

The user is presented the establishment, details for a visit described, explained the arrival and given to many animals, a breed description. Updates and reacquisition via password-protected user accounts of each institution. Arca -Net thus forms a Europe-wide network of institutions in the conservation sector, which is constantly being expanded.

With the search function you can search for specific animal species, plant categories, countries and products. The search results can be displayed either as a list or on a map. By selecting a device further information such as address, description, opening times, animals and plants, products offered etc. are displayed.

Guidelines for receiving

Basic requirements
