ARCADIS NV ( ARCADIS own spelling ) is an international company providing consultancy, project management and engineering services in the fields of infrastructure, water, environment and buildings. Worldwide, the corporation around 22,000 employees. The gross annual turnover amounted in 2012 to EUR 2.5 billion. The Company's headquarters is in Amsterdam, Netherlands. History

Arcadis was founded in 1888 as a society for the reverse engineering of wasteland since 1959 providing services in developing countries. The company's expansion into Europe began in 1990. Through the merger with the listed companies Geraghty & Miller (USA ) in 1993 was also Heidemij, the former name, active in the securities markets, the transition to the Dutch Stock Exchange ( Amsterdam Stock Exchange, now NYSE Next euros ) followed two years later. 1997, the company was renamed from Heidemij Arcadis.
