Arcen en Velden

Arcen en Velden ( Limburg Arse s Velde ) was a Dutch municipality of the province of Limburg. It lay between the Meuse and the border with Germany to the north of the city of Venlo, in which it was incorporated on January 1, 2010.

In the former municipality of the villages Arcen, Lomm and Velden lie.

Attractions

In Arcen is a castle from the 17th century, which was built by order of the Dukes of funds. The corresponding Estate Gardens ( Kasteeltuinen ) were again completely prepared after the floods of 1995 and can be visited.

The Hertog Jan brewery Limburg Arcen can be visited. The grain distillery De IJsvogel, very close is also open to visitors. Here, various gin and liqueurs are burned. Pool and spa friends from the region also like to visit the thermal baths Arcen.

The area is forested and varied. Near the river Meuse water is possible. The region is known for the cultivation of flowers and asparagus.
