Arcetri Observatory

The Arcetri Observatory ( ital: Osservatorio di Arcetri Astrofisico ) (IAU code 030) is an astronomical observatory in Arcetri in the outskirts of Florence in Italy.

At the observatory theoretical and observational astronomy are performed as well as the design and construction of astronomical instruments. The observatory was heavily involved in the following projects:

  • Multiple / Magnum Mirror Telescope 6.5 m telescope
  • LBT 2x 8.4 m telescope
  • Telescopio Nazionale Galileo 3.5 m telescope
  • Adaptive secondary mirror for one of the telescopes of the VLT
  • Gornergrat Infrared Telescope 1.5 m ( Tirgo )
