Archie Goldie

Archibald " Archie " Goldie ( born January 5, 1874 in Hurlford, Ayrshire, Scotland, † April 7, 1953 in Birmingham, England) was a Scottish football player.

Life

Born in Hurlford in East Ayrshire in 1874 Archie Goodie began his career at FC Clyde. He achieved fame with the English club Liverpool, which he joined in 1895: He helped Liverpool 1895/96 promotion to the First Division and even then played for the club until 1900, sometimes together with his brother Bill.

After leaving Liverpool, Goldie was still playing with four other clubs; among them was the first league Small Heath Birmingham. Ibid Goldie died in 1953 at the age of 79 years.
