Arckanum
Arckanum is a Swedish black metal band from Mora. The only fixed band member is Johan " Shamaatae " Lahger, almost exclusively old Swedish texts for Arckanum writes.
History
Arckanum was founded in 1992 by Johan " Shamaatae " Lahger, who acted as the drummer of Conquest / Grotesque previously (the predecessor band of At the Gates ) and Sataros and Loke Svarteld. Previously Shamaatae had already founded with his brother Sataros a death metal band called absorption, which was later renamed Disenterment. After the unreleased demo recording of Disenterment the band played about 20 concerts, including with Unleashed and Unanimated. In 1993 appeared Arckanums first demo demo - 93rd It is the only demo on which involved the two musicians Sataros and Loke before Shamaatae decided to continue his project alone. In a later interview, he described the two founding members Sataros and Svarteld as a guest musician. In 1994, the demo Trulen on which indeed Sataros can be heard in Bærghet, which was otherwise, however, completely played by Shamaatae appeared. In the years 1995 to 1998 published Shamaatae on Necropolis Records, the first three albums Fran marten, Kostogher and Kampen; the album also planned Faunaz Samgang was never released. In the following years several splits and EPs were released before 2008 Antikosmos appeared a new album in Debemur Morti Productions; this contains parts of the written material for Faunaz Samgang. The 2009 released album ÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞ was the last release in Debemur Morti Productions, the following album Sviga læ was released in 2010 by Regain Records.
Style
Arckanum play a melodic, atmospheric black metal style. While the first two albums mostly shorter, be based on simple guitar playing of Bathory to Kampen is composed of about long and epic songs. On this album, there are many folk melodies and on exploratory Shaman singing vowel. Later, the Folk shares were reduced again.
