The French company Cogema ( Compagnie Générale des Matières Nucléaires ) was the world's leading company in the field of nuclear fuel cycle.

The company, based in Paris, founded in 1976 from a part of since 1945 existing state Commissariat à l' énergie Atomique (CEA ). The areas covered range from the extraction of uranium on uranium enrichment ( Eurodif project) and reprocessing of spent fuel to the recycling of this recovered nuclear fuel. Known to the public is mainly operated by Cogema reprocessing plant at La Hague. In addition, are to be mentioned as places of production in France still Cadarache, Pierre Latte, Marcoule, Annecy, miramas and Malvesi. Cogema operates uranium mines in Niger and Canada.
