Argument from poor design

Unintelligent Design (UD) goes back to an eponymous book by Mark Perakh. The theses presented in the book are as satirical response to the fundamental religious circles supported by many intelligent design or creationism movement thought.

Content

According Perakh life began with creation. Unlike Intelligent Design (ID) but there was no perfect plan of life, but a poorly thought out. The extinction of species and the emergence of non-viable species is thus attributed to the error in the design. Therefore Unintelligent Design offers a (satirical intentioned ) explanation for some of the weaknesses of intelligent design.

As an example, the elephants are called: They found fossils of 25 different species, but only three of them have survived to the present day. The Creator, who was necessarily have " large mammals with large ears and a long nose " in the world, have worked incorrectly, so most are extinct.

With Unintelligent Design weaknesses of Intelligent Design should be pointed out by is using the same methods. For example, on the Internet by "trailer" of the UD UD viewpoints represented aggressively and with a veneer of science, as it is often also seen in proponents of ID.

In addition, the UD - motion caricatured creationism or the ID and his followers to be noted that in the current state of research and far more prevalent scientific opinion only explain theories of evolution by mutation and selection, the development and the richness of species scientifically satisfactory. At the same time ironically pointed to the attempts of creationists to affect in particular the theory of evolution, but also science and replace it with their religious- fundamentalist embossed perspective.

In the non-fiction book The Creation Lie: Why Darwin right has devoted by the British evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, a chapter of the Unintelligent Design. By means of some examples, the question is asked, why an intelligent designer has created certain creatures with obvious defects, or why have certain parts of the body nonsensical sizes or shapes. Dawkins leads for inter alia: rudiments - a second pair of wings in flies and nonsensical; Goose bumps in humans ( an atavism, which originates from the former raising the fur ); Vertebrate eye; the human vas deferens, taking a detour unexplained by the human body; the declining laryngeal nerve - this takes a long detour through the body ( at giraffes up to 5 meters). Furthermore, Dawkins mentions the fact that the bag Koala bear is opened downwards although it lives on trees. This is explained with the pedigree of an animal that is similar to today's Wombat and lived in caves and underground passages. As Wombat he moved vertically and an open top bag would have thrown dirt on the infant at the tunnel digging. Another example is the impractical open up sinuses in humans which are to explain that our ancestors were quadrupeds, and so they showed to the front.
