Arion Bank

The Arion Bank is an Icelandic bank, which operated until 21 November 2009 Kaupthing Bank.

After the nationalization of the banking crisis in 2008, the former name was changed to New Kaupthing Bank. The correct change of name and logo is among other things the discontinuity, underline the fresh start and a change of management. The new name is derived from the horse Areion from Greek mythology or the Greek poet Arion of Lesbos.

In addition to the headquarters in the Icelandic capital Reykjavik, there are about 25 branches in Iceland.
