Arke (mythology)

Arke (Greek Ἄρκη ) is a deity of Greek mythology. She is the daughter of Thaumas and twin sister of Iris.

Arke was similarly described her sister Iris in appearance. It should have been as winged and the second weaker secondary rainbow represent, while Iris is the main rainbow. They also took over the role of messenger. However, she was the messenger of the Titans in the Titans, her sister was, however, on the pages of the gods. Iris exercised its task even after the victory of the gods, Arke was hindessen thrown by Zeus together with the Titans in Tartarus and you were on top of everything taken from her wings. This later set a bridal gift for the occasion of her marriage to Peleus Thetis Thetis dar. gave the wings to her son Achilles, who is said to have received from them his speed and his nickname Podarces.
