Features

The animals have a body length of 10 to 12 mm. Your body is high arched long oval and clear. The body outline acts closed. The black- gray, slightly glossy animals are finely punctured above and contribute often small, bright spots. The sensor scourge is bipartite, the forehead bears the middle two humps close to each other and has a beaded edge line. Further down the head carry the animals three wide, short forehead flap. Is located on both sides of the head, the front in angle side tabs solid first segment of the thorax. The last Pleopodenpaar, the uropods are plate-shaped and lies between the Telsonseiten and the rear edge of the Pleons. The species can be confused with several species of the genus Armadillidium, differs from these, however, among other things, by the shape of the end edge.

Occurrence and life

The species is widespread in much of Europe. They settled mainly forests and can be found there in rocky areas and in open areas. The animals prefer limestone areas, where they are often in the rule.
